Yup, they have played together before. One show I know for certain is up here at the Archive under Keller's listings; 5/20/2005. Kimock and Molo join Keller for the last 5 tunes.

Entire show is damn good as well. Love Poncho and Lefty along with a killer version of Eyes.

Poncho & Lefty-one of the great songs of all time. Check out what Steve Earle had to say about the man who wrote it, then Townes's response:

This is seconding Some Dark Hollow on Townes Van Zandt!!!

The phrase "musician's musician" is often overused and misused but in Townes case it certainly applies. For some reason I missed-out on his music for years, but am I sure glad I found and am enjoying him now.

There is a few good things on youtube, with these two being video of him discussing his music at the austinpickers.

btw: Outside of his own wonderful compositions he does a great dead flowers. I even had a naive friend thinking that he wrote it...

And here is to seeing MK get well!!!

Little known genious. Very sad end. Never got the full recognition he deserved.

Just to be sure folks read that Earle quote: "Townes Van Zandt is the best songwriter in the whole world and I'll stand on Bob Dylan's coffee table in my cowboy boots and say that." - Steve Earle.

And just to make sure they know what Townes said:

"I've met Bob Dylan and his bodyguards, and I don't think Steve [Earle] could get anywhere near his coffee table."

Just in case you haven't clicked on that link, folks, there's good stuff to know there about a real American treasure.
